Why don’t we have really good photos of our kids playing sports?
How do we spend big bucks on posed portraits, media day sizzle reels, grainy low-quality cameras on a stick 20 feet in the air and then just forget to get good pictures of our kids ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME?
Kids and teens deserve high-quality action stills that show the emotional highs of competition and their athleticism.
Your phone is super good at many delightful things, it is not great at taking photos of kids and teens moving fast. Let me do that.
If you’re like most of the parents I work with, you’ve hired a string of family and special event photographers.
Family photos at the beach, a mini-session of the kids in the bluebonnets, holiday card setups…they all deserve to be photographed!
But…have you ever hired a Game Day photographer?
Youth activities are so fleeting. Our kids come to these teams as one version of themselves and leave changed for life. And it happens fast.
The transformative experience of youth sports is more than a uniform, a fresh haircut, and a smile.
We build unique relationships with others and ourselves when we engage with youth athletics. We build lifelong communities with the people we watch our kids grow up with. Our kids work hard and put forth so much effort.
That feeling is what I capture.
Photos that go beyond posed portraits are hard to come by.
How many blurry smart phone photos and videos do you have?
A lot, right? You can admit it’s…mumble-something-hundred.
You took all those photos because photos are important. They make us smile and laugh. They let us share our lives with family and friends who couldn’t be there. They let our kids shine in ways that a text message saying, “she won the game,” just can’t express.
That experience deserves to be photographed.
Whatever season you're in now, it won't last forever. It will be wonderful and sweaty and involve so much laundry, but like everything about childhood, it'll end.
Show everyone how great the game was.
Whether you’re trying to get on a new team, boost eyeballs on your social media profile to recruit for college, or just ensure your family remembers the magic forever, good photos never go out of style and are infinitely useful.
The trick is to capture the action before it’s over.
Some of us have kids that play beyond high school. But most of us have a youth sports journey that ends in grades 9-12. These are core memories and they’re happening right now.
You watch the game, hire me to take care of the pictures.
